Anyone who completes kamikaze mode isn't going to be able to tell you.
It's not that unforgiving. But now that you mention it, the fear of the ultimate sacrifice could be a good push to avoid procrastination...
Have you had trouble writing sword-fight scenes? Do all your sword-fights turn into repetitive, slow-moving passages that can't last more than a few sentences? Then check out this article below, written by writer and fencer Martin Turner:

A full scan of the original english-language programme for 'Metropolis' when it first came out - back when they did real programmes.
Fascinating to note it's from an idea of director Fritz Lang's wife, Thea Von Harbou, who was a prolific writer of the time*. With her and Mary Shelley, you could quite easily argue that female writers are largely responsible for what we now call Sci-Fi, along with setting the tone for screen and written fiction more than a century.
*H. G. Wells wrote a scathing review of the film, complaining it ripped off his 'The Sleeper Awakes'. Nice to see things have not changed in a hundred years! Funny and tragic to see that the reasons he gives for dismissing 'Metropolis' as a valid vision of the future in the 1920's, are the exact same reasons it rings true today.
(Disclosure - got all this from today's B3ta links, which is not usually quite so highbrow)

Hi guys,
I'm just throwing out a publishing company for e-books that I myself used. I self-published my book "28 Millions Jobs in 3 Years" through the Anne Catalan Publishing Company. They helped me to format and sell it as an e-book through the Amazon Kindle site.
It was fast and pretty easy to use, so I'd recommend using them.
here's their site

I thought this blog post from author Justine Larbalestier was relevant to conversations we've had and things that writers often ask about coming into the market: http://justinelarbalestier.com/blog/...to-the-market/
