It used to be sticky. It hadn't been posted in for months so I unstickied it. If people post in it then it'll stay at the top, we're trying to keep the stickies to two for each forum as it has been looking cluttered. Of course if it gets a lot of attention then I'll happily risk the wrath of Dag and re-sticky it...

Request you re-think application of a good rule at the wrong time.
This thread has references to books and places that are still useful and from which I draw information/inspiration from time to time.
Recommend you watch the view count as opposed to the post count and date. If no one is actually using this stuff like me, then I defer to your superior judgement. But, if they are, then this ought to remain a sticky.

I concur with HE; I view this more as a permanent resource thread than as an active discussion thread. When people have more to contribute, great; but otherwise the links are here for those who have a current research need.

    Odyssey Writing Workshop

I highly recommend the Odyssey Writing Workshop. I attended it last year (George R.R. Martin was the writer in residence), and I think I've improved tenfold as a writer since then. Not only do you meet awesome writers and make lots of contacts, but you experience critiques of your work by pro writers and editors (and friendly peers). The application deadline is approaching!

All the information is available at http://www.sff.net/odyssey

All kinds of interesting info, enough to make me totally waste several hours after I found what I was looking for.

Hey, Expedient: Can you get into Godchecker's individual files. No matter which god I want to investigate, I get an error message. If it's not just me, I'll send them a note as they request.

I've been browsing the Celtic Gods, and had no problem with individual files.
Didn't try any of the others though.

HE, I'm glad it works now. Maybe next time you'll pm me?

Promotional Resources for Fantasy and SF Authors

In an effort to assist writers of Science Fiction and Fantasy in the promotion of their works I am compiling a database of internet based promotional resources. Of interest are internet resources such as online reviewers and/or interviewers, web forums related to discussing SF and F, SF and F websites, etc.

Once a sufficient number of resources have been gathered I intend to set up a website through which authors or their publicists will be able to access resources allowing them to effectively promote their books.

If you are aware of any reliable and trustworthy internet resources that might prove useful to Fantasy Authors in the promotion of their works please PM me with the information.

    Apophenion's Resourcery Site Is Ready

The authors' promotional resources site that I mentioned in the previous posting in this thread is now ready for you to visit. This website is an effort to assist writers of Science Fiction and Fantasy in making personal connections with those who have the ability to support them in bringing their works to the attention of potential readers.

It is called Apophenion's Resourcery and it is at http://www.ttpsoftware.com/resourcery

What is there so far is just a beginning and I will be adding to the categories as time permits. If you know of any resources that you think I should add please let me know.

I've browsed Apophenion's resource for half the nite and it seems very useful. Thanks for the post and good luck with the site.
