Poor Saliman! He seems to have a sword hanging over his head ("token black" indeed, Gemini! Splutter!! Though I guess that's fair enough in the context of the first two books...and hopefully isn't true at all in The Crow, where everyone is black...)

Just to be horrible, I will say that someone important dies in The Crow. But no amount of badgering or torture or even kidnapping plots will make me reveal who it is.

Irc's been a fabulous character to write! I've found him really funny (I hope you do too, when you get to read him). He's Hem's friend, confidante, helper and ally...and maybe a bit of comic relief in the grim bits.
