Never been to a Comic-Con before, and now I'll be in Artist Alley (table 2117) at one. Gonna be fun!

Is anyone going to World fantasy con when it gets to the U.K next year (2013)? I'm tempted....
I really enjoyed Eastercon when we went in 2008 but haven't been since! I find cons an awkward affair until I sit and listen to panellists chatting and then it is fantastic. It was great to meet Hobbit at Sfxweekender, which is a more likely bet in the future as it is cheap and cheerful! Will have a think about world fantasy con. Do let us know how Eastercon goes Holbrook.
I'll be heading to the World Horror Convention in Salt Lake City in March.

I was thinking of going to New York Comic Con this year. I'm not really into comics though. I'm more into fantasy literature and Sci-fi/fantasy TV and movie type stuff. Has anyone been to this con before and if so would someone like me get much out of it? Thanks!
The Comic Cons do have a comic focus, but there should be plenty enough for a TV and movie fan. As for lit? I believe some publishers attend but it's often less for original works and more for tie-in pieces.
But you should get a good idea of it from their website.
I will likely visit NY Comic-Con for a day, at least.
Also, not specifically a convention but rather a fan meet up in NYC:
Tor.com Meet up August 2nd
On panels tomorrow at EDGE:Lit.
With Sarah Pinborough, Graham Joyce, Christopher Fowler, Adrian Tchaikovsky, MD Lachlan, Anne Lyle and others.
A little nervous, but I am looking forward to it!
