Arkan or Ardina {Spoilers for The Riddle}

I think I know what your talking about... as the elementals were here before the bards...they seem to earn more repect more easily. They also have a way of saying simple things in a way that is kind of simple, but also as a riddle at the same time. Now im just going round in circles. The are very hard to describe and explain!Maybe that is just how they were meant to be.

I have to say Ardina ..... although i liked Arkan in a way, but the fact that he imprisoned Maerad didnt do him any favours. If you think about Ardina she could have done the same in Rachida but let her go. That just seems to make Ardina more .... human? Or that she seems to understand human feelings more? Well she did really fall in love with what was his name .... oh yeah Ardhor. I know Arkan and Nelsor were lovers but Arkan as far as we know didnt love Nelsor enough to try and pass through the Gates. Ardina also has a lot of human subjects whilst Arkan has got rocks and ice.... oh yeah and Gima! Lucky him.

I like both of them...Ardina because of the companionship and understanding she showed Maerad, but Arkan because he (i think) knew about Maerad's feelings for him and didn't gloat or turn her feelings to her advantage.

From what we've seen of elementals i would definitely have to go with Ardina although i think that Maerad may have had an impact upon Arkan that we don't yet know about, although it is possible that he was just using her. I guess i do like him (not as much as Ardina) just becasue Maerad fell in love with him. Great descriptions of him though.

Yeah..if pushed i would go with Ardina too..and i agree with you about the hidden impact that Maerads crush/love might have had on Arkan. very well thought out that Alasse ...

Ardina, for the simple fact we know her character more intimately and have seen a litlle of her depth, whereas it's hard to judge objectively when Arkans' still so much of a riddle. Can't puzzle either of them out, to be fair. Hurgm. I think if we knew more of the complexities of Arkan then he'd prove to be of more intreast...There's so much potential for story lines there!

But...on my bias side...I don't like the git 'cause he's lessening the chances of the Cadvan+Maerad thing kicking off. Grrr, total C+M shipper here...

how true! wonder if we'll see more of the winterking? Maybe Hem has a meeting with him (don't know how that will work) or Maerad and Cadvan when they meet Sharma the elementals/elidhu will be there

I think that we will see more of him at the very end...the final face off between Maerad and Cadvan and the King.He will come to their rescue and allow Maerad a way to finally kill him (yay!)
