Hem's Thread

O.k, we all know Maerad is Elednor the fire lilly of edil amarandh blah blah blah but what about Hem. Nelac says Hem is just as important but no one focuses on him. What do you think his truename is. I've said on one of the other threads how i think it will be "the crow." But his name could also mean doomed or something like that. Maybe the fact that Hem is rejecting his name Cai of Pellinor might be like when Sharma rejected his own name. Maybe Hem will turn evil. But i'm getting carried away, lets stick to the thread. What do you think Hem's truename will be?

Yeah, I doubted that Ali would write what Hem's truename is in the first chapters of the crow - would be too much of a letdown.

well we know that Hem has a strong gift although not as strong as Maerad. I wonder if his truename was also foretold? Oh yeah, he'll have an elidhu name as well so it wont really matter whether he finds out his truename.

No but as Hem and Maerad both have Elidhu blood descended from the house of Karn surely they should both have an elidhu name?

Ooh just had an idea. Perhaps Hem's truename (bardic) is the crow or crow in the speech although that does seem a little obvious.....

hmmm intrigued now.....

i dont suppose well find hem's true(bardic)name until he's instated and i suppose that happens in Turbansk. Don't suppose you can say alison but..... will Hem be instated by the normal route or by the Way of the White Flame as Maerad was?
