looking for a book

Hey all, I'm new to the forum, but I have a question that is been bothering me for quite some time now. i'm sreaching for a book, I had read this at least 8 years ago, and I've since misplaced the book, but not only that, I have no idea what the title is, or who the author is. Anyways here goes a quick synopsis from what I remember.

It involved a man who froze his wife, who was dying a terminal deiese, with the intention of thawing her out when a cure was found, anyways, one thing leads to another, and he decides to freeze himeself along with her. He is then unfrozen at various stages throughout the future, for one reason or another(with still no cure for his wife), he eventually through newer technologies and such manages to lives for millions of years. That is basically what I remember, if someone out there has any idea as to what this is, it would be much appreicated if you could help me out.
