Thread: Responsibility and Cause

Good point. He definitely gets no moral credit. Still another nuance to the relationship between cause and responsibility. Yet if he's causally responsible, how do we take this kind of causal chain into consideration when we are evaluating our own actions? We can't know the contingencies, and is free will a factor as well? Is anyone really responsible for another's actions? Or are we all just determined to do things by causes none of us will ever be able to discover? Are we fooling ourselves when we think we understand a causal chain in our lives?
