what plot? the crash on the island and then...weird stuff starts happenin, this island is frikken massive, but no-ones ever seen it, even though it's under a well travelled public flight path. Yeah right . If there was a plot, it vanished ages ago an now they're pickin at loose ends

Actually the plane was like 1000 k's off course when it crashed, and the island was protected by a magnetic field that blocks radar and such...

And the Polar Bears belonged to the Others, they didn't... swim there or something , If Polar bears can live on the Gold Coast then they can make it on Craphole Island

And there is a "Plan", though i'm really doubting those damn writers at the moment, at least Jack's still made of awesome.
