What's the latest on GGK?

I have read all of Guy Gavriel Kay's works up to his most recent Sarantine Mosaic (EXCELLENT by the way) and I am always on the lookout for the latest news concerning GGK's next project(s). Does anyone know what we can look forward to from GGK or a good sight that can supply such info? thanx.

I just started Tigana yesterday and it is a great book. I am almost halfway through and the story and characters are so alive.

I only read the Fionavar Tapestry by GGK previously, and Tigana is just as good.

I would HIGHLY recommend Kay to anybody who likes GRRM.

Well, i'm one of the many people who think A song of ice and fire is the best thing that happened to fantasy in the last decade or so, but i didn't really like Tigana and haven't touched a GGK book since...
So if you like Martin, it isn't certain that you'll like Kay.

Aah, but to me his Tigana is unlike most of his other work. I didn't really like it either. I can see some definite similarities between his Fionavar Tapestry and SoFaI with regards to world building and character development. GGK, like GRRM, also isn't afraid to kill major characters or have "bad things happen to good people" as the saying goes. They definitely aren't carbon copies of one another, but they seem to have a similar feel.

I started reading Tigana, but couldn't finish it. I didn't like the style, the writing (it was confusing) -almost nothing!

I am more into Tigana and while I think it is really good story with good characters, I can see how the language and (for lack of a better term) wordiness can put people off.

I will change my above opinion and state that I think Fionavar is better.

I haven't tried Tigana yet but I thought GGK's Lions of Al Rassan was one of the best books I've ever read. It has a great plot, interesting and complex characters and, like Martin, he doesn't hold back from killing main characters. It's the only book I've read where the tension building up to a scene (the duel) got so great that I simply had to skip ahead to find out what happened
For the record, I like Martin's stuff too *shrug*

I like the way GGK writes and uses language to convey emotions...but I think I'm a sucker for more peotic writing. Thats why I love works by GGK and Jack Vance, and while I enjoy works from Goodkind, Jordan, and Fiest, I don't savor them as much because of their more juvenile writing styles.
