Short stories where magic/science's roles are reversed
I'm a newcomer here because I vaguely recall a book of short stories given to my by my sister some years ago (she's since forgotten) that I'm trying to find for my wife.
- The author was predominantly into short stories
- The universe theme was that magic is the "science" - predictable, well-studied and verifying. Science is "nonsense".
- At least one story wherein the investigator uses an ankh to divine energies b/c the loop in the ankh will detect the energies whereas a cross wouldn't.
- At least one story where the investigator magically captures an image off a dead man's eye of the last thing he saw.
I would greatly appreciate it anyone could help me out!
