Off Topic and Unrepentant
Pfft. Speak for yourself. I take myself plenty seriously. I can't help it if nobody else does.

Hi, everybody. My name is Jack. I love to both read and write Science Fiction and Fantasy (and every other genre for that matter). I've been looking really hard for a truly good discussion forum, and I hope this is the place!

Hello, I'm new. Couldn't guess could ya? Oh well, I'm just here to be with my fellow Science-Fiction buddies in arms, hopefully read some interesting new books, new movies and get a little feedback on my own writing.
See you all around.

Welcome to you both, hawkedup and Magnet-Rose. This is definitely a good place to share writing and opinions. I look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Hi, I'm Sally. I've been dragged kicking and screaming into cyberspace by my teenage son, but I've been reading science-fiction and fantasy since I was grass-high to a kneehopper.
I'm argumentative, opinionated - and terrified I'm going to get shot down in flames.
Still, from what I've seen so far, there's a lot of like-minded people on this site, so what the hell, here I am!

I'm new to the forum, but not to the genre. I've read till my eyes bled and written till I couldn't hold a pencil. I don't do the writing thing anymore, but I do still love to read.
I prefer Medieval Fantasy, but my friends have been dumping SciFi on my desk a lot lately, so I've been playing catch-up with them. I'm reading Blue Belle, by Andrew Vachss at the moment. I've recently polished off Ender's Game, The Forever War, Farnham's Freehold, Street Lethal and Gorgon Child, Phule's Company, Callahan's Crosstime Saloon and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I spend a lot of time fishing and tending to the ego of my dog, who, in dog years, is older than me.

Other than that i love listening to Metal at ear bleeding volumes and drinking fine whiskey. I'm a new member to the site but i have been visiting for some time.

Thanks Daddy Darth
I'm still on the fourth novel (didn't start them that long ago), so about halfway there. I'd like to point out my name is what I like to call Dragons
And welcome Abaddon/Jim! WoW's taken up probably the past year of my life, but I've not been on today (apart from four dailies).

it could be worse
Oh, I've been on the forum for a couple of days now and I just saw this thread.
I am a 40 year old, married woman. I have my own business (GIS consulting) and work out of my home. I am kind of going through a mid-life crisis. I've decided I am going to do the thing I have always wanted to do - write scifi/fantasy stories! So, here I am. Taking baby steps and enjoying all the banter.
