The Judging Eye
This from the three-seas forum.
Apparently, book one of The Aspect-Emperor is not The Great Ordeal but The Judging Eye and, for those of you who heard the rumor, book two is not The Horns of Golgotterath but The Shortest Path.
Thank you, Universe, for R. Scott Bakker.

Pat confirmed that Orbit has a manuscript in pre-edited form, and that a Winter 2009 date seems most likely. Amazon.UK has it up for January 2009.

Very, very nice. What a great time this is when we have so many great writers putting out quality stuff on a regular basis

Just posted the new cover art on the blog.
Though it follows the style of the Canada/US covers of The Prince of Nothing, I find the gray color to be too bland to catch the attention of fantasy fans unfamiliar with Bakker.
See for yourself!

I heard from Overlook last week that they are still on for publication in January '09. I think Pat just posted the cover art for the UK edition.

Yep, I've read it!
Scott sent me a file containing the last copy-edit of the manuscript, and he wanted me to be the first reviewer to get a crack at it. Many thanks to him for doing that!
Though it's spoiler-free, I elaborate on the principal storylines, so be forewarned if you don't wish to know anything in advance. Otherwise, feel free to have a look.
Oh and it's the ****, by the way!
Check the blog for the full review.

Still no news whether hardback edition will be published in the UK, if yes, then when?

Don't think there will be a UK hardcover...
I had it on pre-order with amazon and they cancelled it. There's only a PB edition up there now.

I've just finished reading the prologue, good stuff as always. I am definitely going to have to skip school the day that this comes out.
