I finally stopped buying more books than I'll read in the next 15 (20?) years, but I did pick up one noteworthy item:
Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky Bros. Be looking forward to reading that one sometime this year. Maybe before the end of the summer.

Alright, taking my first foray into SciFi in about twenty years. Based on recommendations in some threads, I've gone and purchased the Night's Dawn Trilogy by Peter Hamilton. With the recommendations I've seen, it seems like I can't go wrong with this purchase.
Thanks all

Based on positive word of mouth, online interviews and a podcast with the author on The DragonPage, I bought Off Armageddon Reef by David Weber. I like the premise and based on enjoying Weber's short fiction in Worlds of Weber, I figured this was a good jumping in point for his novel-length fiction.
