SusF, I enjoyed the necromancer series quite a bit. I have all 4 books and of waiting for the next installments to come out. The series is going to be called "The fallen kings cycle". I believe this is because she went with a new publishing house if I'm not mistaken.

Now onto my newly bought list

    The Dwarves - Markus Heitz
The War of the Dwarves - Markus Heitz
The Tyrants and Kings Trilogy - John Marco
The Night Angel Trilogy - Brent weeks
Lord Fouls Bane - Stephen Donaldson
    Stardust - Neil Gaiman

Yesterday, I received Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett, bought on eBay. Then, today, I bought for Ł1 each:

The Lies Of Locke Lamora - Scott Lynch
The Steel Remains - Richard Morgan
    Revelation Space - Alastair Reynolds
    Hyperion - Dan Simmons

Okay, I realise the bottom two are science fiction, but it hardly seemed worth posting again in the equivalent Sci-Fi thread...

    Hellions,
After you've read them, fill me in on what you think. I've read some of the posts around here on Watt-Evans, but still teeter upon the fence. Wondering if he is worth the buy/read.

Well I recently read The Misenchanted Sword, the first book set in his Ethshar world. Nothing earth shattering but a fun quick story of a random guy stuck with a magical sword. It makes for a neat diversion between heavier grittier books. There are some YA undertones (if that's not your fare). From what I gathered, all the volumes in this series feature a different hero faced with a unique problem and are all self-contained. So you can give the first one a try without fear of setting foot into an endless stream of sequels.

Can't speak for his trilogies yet (Annals of the Chosen, Obsidian Chronicles...) but I'm stockpiling them anyway
