I used a gift card to pick up Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn. I have wanted to read something of his alone since he took over for Jordan and this one seemed like the right one to start with. Also bought G G Kay's Under Heaven after the Kay discussion here pre-christmas. I am really excited to get into both as soon as I am done Hunter's Run, a great piece of sci-fi.

I just bought Redick's River of Shadows. This didnt come with a map, why would the first two paperbacks in the series have maps and not a trade paperback?

I just got the first four dark tower trade PB's from the thrift store for $6 total. They are in perfect condition so I am pretty stoked. I was just considering starting these up.

Seriously, if you already have a book buying problem (like I'm sure many here do like me), do NOT get a Kindle or other eReader. It's way too easy to blow your money. "It's just 2.99" no longer is a deal when you do it 20 times.

    Recent purchases:

    The Executioness by Tobias Buckell
    The Alchemist by Paolo Baclioiuasdifaosf
    Wild Cards I
    The Heroes by Abercrombie
    Miserere by Teresa Frohock
The Damned Busters by Matthew Hughes
    Perfect Shadow by Brent Weeks
Leviathan Wakes (with The Dragon's Path) by SA Corey
    Sandman Slim by Richard Kadrey
    Shaman's Crossing by Robin Hobb
Draculas by Jeff Strand, Paul F. Wilson, Jack Kilborn, Blake Crouch
Child of Fire by Harry Connolly
The Great Bazaar and Other Stories by Brett
    The Ice Dragon by GRRM
    Blade of Tyshalle by Stover

    Also, in paper form:

Island in the Sea of Time by SM Stirling
    Skyboal by Melanie Rawn

Apologies for the double post, but not long ago I pre-ordered Shadow's Master by our own Jon Sprunk, and I also picked up Cabal by Clive Barker. I'm waiting for a copy of The Gray Wolf Throne by Cinda Williams Chima.

I just got a Kindle Fire, and I am resisting the urge to browse....

Just ordered The Whitefire Crossing by Courtney Schafer. Really looking forward to seeing rock climbing in fantasy, it should be really interesting. Plus I've heard some good things about the book, so hopefully I'll enjoy it.

    Percepliquis - Sullivan

I have Sullivan's first omnibus, courtesy of the grandest gentleman in all of the kingdom of Jersey. I'll be picking up the other two as well, but had to have the complete set of art from that series. There's something to be said for the more subtle, subdued approach.

Priestess of the White - Trudi Canavan

Saw the HC on Amazon, used, for £2.80 - absolutely had to. Heard it's just like her first series which, bar the poor final volume, I really liked.

Heirs of the Blade - Tchaikovsky

I had to get it at Amazon.uk. I generally prefer to use BD, but they have it listed as unavailable still. What gives?
