Help needed with link

I am trying to post a link to my library catalog at library.com but I am having trouble getting it to work. Am I doing it wrong or does this kind of imbedded object not work on this site? Here is the type of link library thing creates:

Those are HTML tags Rob, this is a bulletin board so it's a different set of tags - does librarything offer a BB tags version? Otherwise just use the weblink http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?view=Gkarlives like so.

That is what I did at first, but I was worried that it linked in as me signed into the site. I was worried that others could manipulate my page, but looking at it now, the controls in this link seem to be limited and you need to sign in. Thanks.
