The theme fits nicely with my story from last month, "Grail Overfloweth," so I decided to keep rolling and write a sequel of sorts. Ayla is a minor character in my main work, which is two books and about 300,000 words and counting (or maybe gestating is the better word).
Although it never quite went where I wanted it to, its finally in. Thank God its my first attempt. Ugghhh.

I think I know what you're talking about there. It's a story element and if people want to be pissed about it, that would be their problem. At only 38 years old, I have regularly been cursed and vilified with every name in the book (too many management positions). I just take it to mean that I'm doing my job well. Should someone take cheap potshots at you for your story elements, I would say that it only means you made them think and provoked a thought they didn't like experiencing. Again, their problem.
