Actually, I was wondering if it could be purged, but folders would work too. One could then purge the whole folders after a certain amount of time...or not.

Don't think we do folders, I've just tried and there don't seem to be any tools that let me do it. Maybe Mark and Dag are a different story. I'll stick the SS threads for now and then talk to the others and see if there's a way of doing it I'm not seeing.
I also suggest any time somone adds a story they post a link to it and also possibly post the links for the other stories, so location is much simpler than hunting through a 10-15 page thread.
So far I'm only seeing two, thus:
The Body by Ben Hobson [Benh]

I thought I was supposed to write a short story.
I didn't know I was supposed to write a short story on a given date.
In my world, you want a story, you get a story.

This is the 3 week reminder! Deadline for entry is Sunday, February 7th.
My own piece is progressing nicely, I think. I'll no-doubt be joining the last minute scramblers, and I'm still trying to come up with something for the Flash Fic. Funny thing about this longer-term contest, it seems less urgent. Then I look at my story and realize how much is left to do...
I updated the first post with the Entries so far (which I'll try to be more on top of as we come to the end of the entry period).
Hope everyone is doing well, and looking forward to your entries.

I've got what I think is a solid opening, but it's taking me in a different direction than I intended, and one I'm not sure I want to follow. I'll keep plugging away and see what happens.

I'm 3k into the rough draft... at most another 1k to go. I, as well, thought I had a fairly solid opening and a decent little outline... but then my characters up and started walking away elsewhere...
I'm curious - who else is writing for this contest?

Almost to 3000 words, and it's already morphed twice from my original plan as I go along. Although I do think I know where it's ending.

Hope beats eternal - my entry may yet be saved. This little story has turned into a bit of bug. I wrote about half the story in first person as an experiment for myself and hated it so rewrote it. Then I realised I had way too much going on for 5000 words - 50 000 may have done it. So lets see I tried rewriting the intro to get you into it quicker. Hated it - still too much going down. On Monday I had pretty much resigned myself to letting the story rot and let it be. I was at peace.
Then yesterday light shone down from the heavens and inspiration struck. I am now zipping through a hard boiled version. I like it. I think I have time to complete it.
I am relieved b/c I really wanted to stretch myself and write a longer piece and get some feedback.
Fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted.
