trying to rediscover a story

The story was a about a guy that whatever he dreams becomes true, but in a way as if it always was, he goes to a therapist who uses his powers for personal gain.

I read this short story about 13 years ago and really liked it, and would very much appreciate any help finding it...

additional details: I read it in a book containing a collection of short sf stories, among them was "flowers for algernon" and something about a train to hell...

Ursula Le Guin, The Lathe of Heaven.

Flowers for Algernon was re-published in Asimov's Hugo Winners, Vol. 1 along with Robert Bloch's Hellbound Train, but I'm certain that The Lathe of Heaven was not in that book.
