What are the thieve's rules?

I'm always reading this and that rule of thieves but when I do a search I come up with nothing on the Net. Anyone know where to find these elusive rules fantasy writers use?

Never talk to cops.
Never screw a partner over.
Don't get caught.
Don't steal your partners main squeeze(unless you really want to).
Kill people only as absolutely neccessary.
If someone does you wrong, do them WAY worse.
Always have more than one way out.

I do not know about official thieves rules, but these came to the top of my head. I will throw down more if you want them.

I would add the following:

Make sure that the boss gets his cut
If you are caught then keep your mouth shut and don't finger anyone else

...don't take more than you can carry (gold is heavy)
...pay your dues to the Thieves' Guild
...don't screw with the Assassin's Guild
...don't order a yakuza in Tokyo if what you really wanted was something to drink
