"You did what?"
The three of them stood on the grassy mound outside of town. They stayed in an Inn for the night, no one speaking of the events. Yuir had stayed behind and spoke with the healer. The healer's daughter was given some draughts to rest. Maya had explained to the healer she would not remember anything of their presence, and offered to pay for the inconvinence. The Healer would not hear of it, instead making arrangements for them to stay at the Inn. The Healer had been surprisingly positive the entire time.
Yuir looked at Tahl.
"He is chained to me now, Kieth has me. Your connection to him has collapsed." Tahl stared in slight confusion.
"Am I no longer a Summoner then?" Yuir sighed, not unkindly.
"You could still channel him through me, with training. And that is the choice before you. If you leave us, you can start a new life, a new name, and Kieth would not be your concern."
"And if I come with you?"
"Then I will teach you, and I will tell you much you need to know. There would be no more secrets. But I will only tell you if you choose to come, for the knowledge is such that would endanger you if you went on your own. If I leave I will not follow, I will respect your decision." Tahl lowered his head. Yuir strode away, strangely somber. Tahl knew that if he would only speak to Tahl again when he made his decision.
"How did you find me?" Tahl asked. Yuir turned and his eyes moved to Maya. He then continued to a further spot on the hill. Tahl turned to Maya, who smiled kindly; another suprise for Tahl.
"Let's talk, shall we?" she asked.
The two were sitting on the hillside, looking over the valley.
"I am sorry, Tahl. For everything. I can understand why you left." She said softly. Tahl looked at her.
"Apology accepted. Yourself and Yuir, I don't know what would have happened..."
"It didn't." She said flatly. "Sorry, but best not to think of it."
"How did you find me? Yuir looked at you to answer my question." Maya looked over the valley.
"You aren't the only one who keeps company with a demon." Tahl stared.
"Are you a..."
"Summoner? No. She gives me the ability of stealth, helpful being a thief-taker."
"She? I haven't met any who deal with female demons-I didn't know they existed. And I certainly haven't met any female summoners."
"You led a sheltered life" Tahl opened his mouth, and saw she was smiling-a jest. "Summoners bond with a demon of their gender, or perhaps the demon chooses them. There are very few female summoners, far less than male." Tahl thought he knew all about Summoning and demons-evidently he had a lot to learn.
"So, it's always the same sex?" Maya blinked.
"I've met one exception-it was a male who had a female demon. He didn't work for anyone, he kept to himself. Very docile-a healer." Tahl's jaw dropped.
"Are you having me on? A healing summoner? That's preposterous!" Yet as Tahl said the words, he had doubt.
"They worked very well in conjunction with each other. You'd be surprised. There are many things you can learn, if you choose."
"My choice..." he started, unsure.
"Let me tell you what I have told Yuir of myself. As he said, no secrets, though knowing a little more of me won't harm you-and maybe it will help you with our decision."
"You trust me?" Tahl asked.
"I do." Maya said. She then started to speak of what she told Yuir.
Sorry as well for the delay, but we both need our time to figure what we want to do-as you are getting an idea of Yuir's background, I am getting that of Maya

Yuir lay his head down that night. The inn bed was uncomfortable and stained, yet it beat the rough surfaces they had been maknig use of over the past few days.
Keith's voice was ripe in his mind, a barrier between him and the land of dreams.
"Difficult, isn't it? Having responsibility?" Keith snickered. "Go. Run away, old man. Back to your Bonewood, your own little world of monsters. You know it's the safest thing to do... Keep me away from the boy."
Yuir yawned. "Is this what Tahl had to put up with? No wonder he can be brainless.." He sounded, if anything, unimpressed.
Keith's voice did not come for a moment then. When it did, it was cold. "You know the truth of what you have done," Keith spoke. "I can never truely be severed from the boy... We are souls, bound. That's why the Summoners had to die... That's why /he/ had to die---your precious son." Where a cold voice had been, there was only laughter. "It is only a matter of time..."
Yuir, for first time, allowed himself a deep breath and a faulter in his exprssion. He turned, and willed himself to sleep. He had to shut down his senses to the world around him, yet sleep would be worth it.
Maya and Tahl returned to the inn, rushing inside, closing the door behind them. The pair were smirking and laughing, breathless. They had been caught up in a wave of drunken revellers from the tavern. Apparently, the first day of a new market brought all sorts of types to town.
Maray straightened up, a smile on her face. "It's so quiet in here.." She held one hand to her head, as if she were dizzy. It was odd, seeing drunkards when you were not yourself drunk.
"They'll all be a'bed." Tahl looked out of the window.
However, Maya made a small noise that snapped his head around. "No... They are not all a'bed..." She stood in front of the small ledger, where, b day, the Innkeep had stood booking their rooms and taking coin. The man was now a corpse, a withered shell ni a pool of black. It was too dark to make out the blood, yet Maya knew. Even Tahl knew, as he approached.
His throat had been slit.
Maya lowered down. "What grudges would a man like that have...?"
However, Tahl rushed past her. "Yuir..."

The two of them pounded up the stairs and flew into the room, slamming the door aside.
"A little late, aren't we?" Yuir asked plainly.
The scene before them was a tableaux. Yuir lay there on his side, as though still sleeping. In front of them Celine stood rigid, a blade in her hand, half bent towards Yuir, frozen in position, as though stopped by an unknown force while trying to slit his throat. Yuir sat up on the bed in a nonchalant manner.
"What..." Tahl started.
"Seems like our friend still holds a grudge." Yuir sniffed. Maya walked over to her, puzzled.
"She should be out like a light."
"Ah, yes, your little calming energy. It did work for awhile it seems." Yuir observed. Maya inspected Celine. Her eyes were rolled in her head, and was shivering slightly."
"Sleepwalking?" Maya wondered. "I take it you're holding her?" She asked Yuir.
"I've never liked people sneaking up. I always set up a ward when sleeping for stuff just like this. She's caught nicely. Let's see what happens, shall we?" Yuir waved a hand. Celine, started moving again. She continued to make motions towards her victim. She then stopped, seemingly confused at the body being no longer there.
"Looking for me?" Yuir asked. The reaction was immediate. She whirled and drove the blade towards Yuir. Maya grabbed her wrist casually in mid swing. Maya frowned.
"She's not sleepwalking, she being controlled." Tahl, quiet in all this, suddenly acted. He started mumbling some words.
"Adea, Adia, Adua." He put a hand on her shoulder and gently pushed her back towards the bed, repeating the refrain. Her eyes lowered and she was gently laid on the bed, her body relaxing into slumber.
"Well, done, Tahl." Yuir said. Tahl blinked, this was high praise coming from Yuir, as well as using his name. He smiled slightly.
"It's a calming refrain, used to push wayward dem...summoners. I've had used on me a few times, and seen it used on others."
"It was a wise move, and helped her without harming her. Well done." He smiled, a rare genuine smile from him.
"Thank you...Yuir." He replied, using his name just as respectfully.
"Don't let it go to your head." He winked. Tahl smiled brightly. Maya was confused.
"She had no demon when I was with her-I'm not even sure..."
"She's not a summoner, she doesn't have a demon." Yuir spoke.
"Kieth?" Tahl asked? Yuir shook his head.
"Killing who you're connected to makes no sense. He's connected to me. My death would kill his channel..." he trailed off, unsure.
"I'm still connected to the boy..." the voice mocked in his head. Yuir looked up.
"We should take her home. I wish to talk to the healer."

Maya looked down at the limp girl, watching her chest rise and fall, thankfully she was still alive. "I'm not sure I'd want to take the man's daughter back to him in the dead of night... With blood on her clothes," she pointed out the red speckles that likely belonged to the poor, unfortunate inn keep.
"He's a healer, he can't hurt us," Tahl mumbled, folding his arms across his chest.
"No, but we can hurt him," Maya frowned at him with a sharp glint in her eyes.
Yuir was already busy, collecting up his things. He slung his bag over his shoulder and headed for the door, as if his younger companions conversation was not even happening and did not matter. "We can not be found here by morning," he stated bluntly, annoyed at them for not seeing it. "There is a dead man downstairs and we are strangers. Tahl, bring the girl."
He left little room for argument, so Tahl did as he was bid and scooped the girl into his arms. He was not exactly one for labour, but he found her suprisingly light, as if her insides were filled with nothing but air.
As they passed the dead man, his head peering out from behind the bar, Yuir paused and knelt. Catching his finger to another he made a series of motions and mumbled something that Tahl could not hear. He wanted to ask what, but felt as if he would be intruding. They did not move him, and went on their way.
"Death is death," Yuir spoke softly, "It only saddens me now when it comes upon the wrong man."
Tahl remained silent, but heard Maya whisper behind him, "There is no wrong man..." Her tone was uncertain, not bitter, but he could not tell if he liked it.
They continued to the healer's home and slipped inside without knocking.

I figured we had been neglecting it, even though all my ideas are gone. xD
