"You did what?"
The three of them stood on the grassy mound outside of town. They stayed in an Inn for the night, no one speaking of the events. Yuir had stayed behind and spoke with the healer. The healer's daughter was given some draughts to rest. Maya had explained to the healer she would not remember anything of their presence, and offered to pay for the inconvinence. The Healer would not hear of it, instead making arrangements for them to stay at the Inn. The Healer had been surprisingly positive the entire time.
Yuir looked at Tahl.
"He is chained to me now, Kieth has me. Your connection to him has collapsed." Tahl stared in slight confusion.
"Am I no longer a Summoner then?" Yuir sighed, not unkindly.
"You could still channel him through me, with training. And that is the choice before you. If you leave us, you can start a new life, a new name, and Kieth would not be your concern."
"And if I come with you?"
"Then I will teach you, and I will tell you much you need to know. There would be no more secrets. But I will only tell you if you choose to come, for the knowledge is such that would endanger you if you went on your own. If I leave I will not follow, I will respect your decision." Tahl lowered his head. Yuir strode away, strangely somber. Tahl knew that if he would only speak to Tahl again when he made his decision.
"How did you find me?" Tahl asked. Yuir turned and his eyes moved to Maya. He then continued to a further spot on the hill. Tahl turned to Maya, who smiled kindly; another suprise for Tahl.
"Let's talk, shall we?" she asked.
The two were sitting on the hillside, looking over the valley.
"I am sorry, Tahl. For everything. I can understand why you left." She said softly. Tahl looked at her.
"Apology accepted. Yourself and Yuir, I don't know what would have happened..."
"It didn't." She said flatly. "Sorry, but best not to think of it."
"How did you find me? Yuir looked at you to answer my question." Maya looked over the valley.
"You aren't the only one who keeps company with a demon." Tahl stared.
"Are you a..."
"Summoner? No. She gives me the ability of stealth, helpful being a thief-taker."
"She? I haven't met any who deal with female demons-I didn't know they existed. And I certainly haven't met any female summoners."
"You led a sheltered life" Tahl opened his mouth, and saw she was smiling-a jest. "Summoners bond with a demon of their gender, or perhaps the demon chooses them. There are very few female summoners, far less than male." Tahl thought he knew all about Summoning and demons-evidently he had a lot to learn.
"So, it's always the same sex?" Maya blinked.
"I've met one exception-it was a male who had a female demon. He didn't work for anyone, he kept to himself. Very docile-a healer." Tahl's jaw dropped.
"Are you having me on? A healing summoner? That's preposterous!" Yet as Tahl said the words, he had doubt.
"They worked very well in conjunction with each other. You'd be surprised. There are many things you can learn, if you choose."
"My choice..." he started, unsure.
"Let me tell you what I have told Yuir of myself. As he said, no secrets, though knowing a little more of me won't harm you-and maybe it will help you with our decision."
"You trust me?" Tahl asked.
"I do." Maya said. She then started to speak of what she told Yuir.

Sorry as well for the delay, but we both need our time to figure what we want to do-as you are getting an idea of Yuir's background, I am getting that of Maya![]()
