Well, the thread title says it all; Im interested in reading some of his stuff, can anyone recommend a good book to start with? They all sound weird and interesting (right up my alley), so Im not sure which one to start with. Just curious. Thanks!

Perdido Street Station is the only one I have read, but it was brilliant. I believe it is also the first book that is featured in the New Crobuzon city he created. While the other books do not share a continuing story, it couldn't still hurt to start with PSS.
SEARCH is your friend:
China Mieville, reading order?
Hear hear.
Read everything, except maybe Kraken, which IMO is poor.
If you thought PSS was crap any chance of liking any of the others?
I guess I'm one of the few who do not share the entusiasim. I dont find" bug sex" cool...![]()

City and The City has a lot of intrigue and the way the two cities operate with one another is quite fascinating. It didn't win the Hugo Award for nothing so definitely check that one out.
China will be scripting a comic book series for DC, Dial H:
- Dial H by science fiction/fantasy novelist China Miéville and artist Mateus Santoluoco, which is a "bold new take on a cult classic about the psychological effects on an everyman who accidentally gains powers to become a hero;
Dial H is an update of Dial H for Hero whereby a normal kid had this decoder/watch that turned him into a Superhero, but everytime he used it he became a different hero, and mostly, not an existing hero. So the kid would become something like "Laser Man who has laserbeam eyes!"
Could be the "H" may stand for Horror, knowing Mieville.
