Hi All,

Im looking for a Novel I read when I was a teen,

Its about a Technologically Advanced City which is in the centre of a huge wasteland type area.... outside the waste land there are fields and forest in which hunter/gatherer type people live.

when the "country" folk turn a certain age they much go into the waste land for a certain amount of time and then go into the city each night to clean it.

At one point in the novel, the people in the city perform a brain transplant to transplant the brains of one of the "country" peoples brains into the brain of a "rich" child to save its life...

Hopefully someone know what I'm talking about and can help me find it!
