I don't remember many of the details, but here goes.

I was reading the book in early 1985, so it has to have been published before that. Likely pre-1983.

The main character is a female astronaut. She is part of a team that is being sent to build/man/repair a spacestation. The setting is near future, bulking NASA style spacesuits, set within the solar system.

It was likely written before the time of Sally Rides first shuttle flight.
