A new collection of short stories, Everyone's Just So So Special by Robert Shearman, has caught my eye recently. It has been mentioned by some blogs, podcasts and magazines I read/listen to and sounds interesting. But info on Robert Shearman on the internet is scarce as are reviews for this collection. I have been able to gather that he has some involvement with Doctor Who, has won or been nominated for some awards (World Fantasy, BFS), and it seems to me his writing tends towards the dark fantasy/horror end of the spectrum. Is anybody on this forum familiar with his work and able to tell me more? Even better, anybody read this new collection and care to comment?

He's a lovely bloke, very funny and quite shy about his talents.
He has written for Doctor Who: the episode Dalek, for example, was his.
His blog is here: http://www.robertshearman.net/
Does that help?

I can't find a blog -- only a front page and some links to others sites.
It's always nice to know an author is a nice bloke or blokette, but I was hoping somebody could tell me what to expect from his writing. But thanks for telling me what you know, Mark. Where did you have the opportunity to meet him?
