Crossed the 5000 word mark. I'm almost done with my first draft! I've never finished a first draft of a novel before!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. To be honest, there's so many things wrong with the first draft, it's not even funny. I'll make sure to hide it from view. However, I've learned a lot writing it, and I think I can fix some of the issues with second draft.

Yesterday I fell quite ill to a sinus cold (happens when the weather begins to shift on me) but I am quite proud to say that today I made up for it with 1263 words more! I'm also 34% closer to finishing my goal of completing Chapter 1 rewrite.
First post was: 512
Second post was: 1721
This post: 1263
Total so far: 5729
By my mark I am averaging 1900 words per post. Let's hope I can keep this momentum.

Another 322 words tonight! Hope to get some other preliminary work done soon on a short story or flash fic for the contests here.

Add 600 words for me. That's two pages of writing (on average)... I tend not to type first drafts, I much preffer to write them out first. Turns out my main character (who doesn't know if he's gay or not) has found an interesting young man to lead him to the cave of Grisham the Great...

I'm 2/3's of the way through my final rewrite. The plan is to have it completed by the start of next week.

Took a week off of writing to deal with wedding stuff, but I'm back! No progress to report but well done everyone who has been more disciplined than I!

The 200 words I wrote on Monday ended up being a waste of time. I think I ended up deleting all but about 30 of them.
I didn't write yesterday, but today I've managed to make some progress. I think I'm happy with how I've managed to do things. Shame about those 200 words I had to delete. Today I wrote 374 (which includes the 30 I managed to salvage from Monday's efforts) and I'm hopeful I've managed to find the right path at last.
This evening, I wrote a whopping extra 1013 words.Last edited by BrightStar; September 7th, 2011 at 09:54 PM.
