Seeking Name of 90's era werewolf Novel - Allison Wolf ?

I've been trying to remember the name of a werewolf novel I read a few years back.

The main character was a teenage girl (I believe her name was Allison) who is bitten and changed into a werewolf - then taken by the man who changed here back to his community were the inhabitants worship him as a small 'g' god. They don't like using the term werewolf.

The girl is also a pothead and wants to go to laguna beach - where she wants to eat the tourists(!) and have her and her guy pretend to be tiger sharks!

They refer to the change as 'the hunt' and only eat people as food. It was weird but fun.

I think we're stumped Kyle. I've actually run a couple of searches on it but no luck. If you can remember anything else, that might help. But otherwise, if you do find out what it is, come back and let us know. A horror/werewolf site might be more able to help you find it maybe.
