New to fantasy, what should I read next?!

Hello, I am new to this forum and the fantasy genre as well. I am a 21 year old male in my senior year of college. I started reading fantasy about a year and a half ago after having knee surgery and having a lot of free time on my hands. I was instantly hooked. I started by reading The Sword of Truth series, and I am now about to finish Towers of Midnight in the WOT series. I will have to wait some time for A Memory of Light to come out, so I need a series to read in the mean time.

I have been planning on reading Game of Thrones next, however I feel like I should look into all my options since there are SO MANY good books out there in the genre that I have not read or do not even know about. I have also considered Lord of the Rings, The Malazan Book of the Fallen, the Stormlight Archive, and Mistborn. I know that there are tons of other great options out there as well. So, what series would you recommend for my third adventure in the fantasy genre and why would you recommend it? Thanks!

In before Rob posts recommendation links. Go with Mistborn. Malazan is wicked dense (albeit amazing) and you'll enjoy it more when you've read a bit more, in my opinion.

    Hi Jasputan

We get a lot of "what can I read next" threads on just about a daily basis. We find that such posts usually get the same response. Actually looking at what's already on the Web site or utilizing our SEARCH function will usually answer most people's requests. Perhaps it is uncommon, but we like people to have a look around rather than just demand (even if it's polite!) immediate gratification for their own personal needs.

With such a large and complex site it can be difficult to see everything going on, admittedly. But if people think that there's answers out there they will point people in the general direction.

So, rather than people coming here and repeating the recommendations they've provided in other threads, I'll direct you to some of those threads:

    A Kingdom's Possession

Hey, I think you might like A Kingdom's Possession by Nicole Persun (Booktrope). It's a real fun read.
