Seriously though, a tie in the tie-breaker? The amount of evenness is TOO D--- HIGH!

Well I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get around to reading a lot of the flash entries this time around, but maybe I'll read them now and see if I can tilt the scales.

Oh boy. . . I just read Three Brothers and re-read A Dirge from Dirgewater.

I can see why there was a tie. It's painful that one of these stories has to lose. . .

Dirgewater had some of the better ideas I felt, a great setting, a very ominous tone. . .

But Three Brothers had some very solid writing. Nothing really threw me off, hardly a fault in it. . .

But the MC in Dirgewater going from talking about what he's seen to talking about what's happening now at the end when he's confronted by the mayor felt a little off to me. I thought it would have worked better if the story was in third person, and the information from his inner monologue was added to his written recording, if that makes sense.

So, I think my vote will go to Three Brothers. And I will make sure to read the entries that I missed, just to make things fair. I know you guys don't write these just so they can be ignored, so I'll do what I can, read and contribute when I find the time.

Thanks very much everyone! Can't believe it's me in this position this month

I'll have the March FF thread up later today. Hopefully my theme will not disappoint!
