Schmendrick the magician.... anyone?

There was this lovely book with a character named Schmendrick the Magician, who was actually pretty bad at magic. And another novel by the same author where real vikings begin to appear at a Renaissance fair?

They also made a pretty good animated movie from that book. My sisters and I watched it about a thousand times growing up. I've found copies of it at Walmart before. Probably not suitable for really little kids. The Red Bull can be pretty scary for little ones.

I had forgotten about the Red Bull. He was scary indeed, coming out of the castle and pushing all the unicorns into the sea! The more I think about the more I want to track down both books. Many thanks for the tip on the movie.
