Emile Zola
It is such a shame that we tend to forget these wonderful old authors. I am re-reading La Terre - in English I suppose it must be called The Earth ...?
There are some of the old writers, the Bronte sisters for example, that (to me) are just Victorian Mills and Boon, but Zola is exceptional.
My own books fall in to the shadows by comparison I fear !

What in the world does "bump" mean ? And do you mean Zola, me or Bronte is "bump".
I don't think this site was designed for people to be rude to each other, you know.
