You're doing a great job as it is!
I will try to enter for this wind theme as I have a few ideas brewing.

Mine is turning into a bit of a slog. 1200 words and it's still not firing on all cylinders. I may have to skip this one.

I'm in the same boat. Hopefully something will turn around in the next five weeks or so.

Though I am not submitting, I am trying to write stories with the theme in mind. I came up with a cool tornado scenario (behold the awesome destructive power of the WIND) but then it started to sound a lot like the Wizard of Oz...so I chucked it.

What I came up with ended up being just a bunch of hot air. I will have more time later, maybe.

Really?

Come on, don't give up on us now! (I'm about halfway done with mine, and it's shaping up pretty good, in my opinion.)

Cute! I'll have to use that sometime...
I only have one entry so far. Not the turn out I had hoped for, but if this keeps up, it'll make the voting process much easier!
Okay everyone, I'm taking down the story threads from the last contest. They will be deleted permanently - as in gone without a trace. I hope you copied anything you wanted from those threads.
Thanks and remember you can write while on vacation!

Aha!
I just had a blinding revelation. The reason my current story is being such a chore to write is because I know what happens. I have a plot, and an end point. Usually I start my stories somewhere (in what turns out to be the middleish) and they expand outwards and I discover them as I write. This time though, it's all there in my head and writing it down is just one long bore of a colour-by-numbers job.
I'll plod on. I may finish in time to enter.
EDIT: 3K and still plodding. (Though I am enjoying all the gratuitous sex and violence that has crept in :-).)Last edited by JunkMonkey; July 11th, 2012 at 06:18 PM.

I've got a story that I think will work nicely here, just need to change it up a bit and re-work some of the pieces so that it fits within the word count.

Great! Glad to hear you two are churning out some material.

I received another entry, and I have an illustration to transition from one story to the next. What do you all think of this?

Thank the multi-talented Rob Garbin (Gkarlives) for this apt, and lovely illustration!

I'm going to try to enter. Force me to finish something. Don't expect to be too much competition though.

Three and a half thousand words (I took all the bonking out and added more story) and I still have two major scenes to write! Damn, I hate having a plot to work to. I may have to do some serious pruning here. The upper limit is still five thousand words, isn't it?
