Sorry for the late reply, JM, but yes, the word count limits are the same as before: 2000 to 5000 words.

FYI - we have about five or six entries (been out of town, but will check submission word counts tonight or tomorrow) so far, and we have more art to include from Rob Garbin. It is going to look (and read) so awesome!

Also, a quick reminder that the deadline is noon PDT on August 15th, 2012.

So so so want to submit something. Finally have a kernel of an idea but I feel like I am manufacturing it a little too much to fit the wind part. Still, it has me thinking which is exciting.

Does anyone know what the deal with quoting a song lyric at the start of a story is - is it ok? I am not wedded to the idea but it feels kinda right.

Can't find the article, but I remember a recent one (perhaps here? might have been one of Kat's posts but can't find it) that said they're hugely expensive to get the rights for.

I knew there was some mention of it at some point but could not even think where to find it. I was not sure how it worked. There are some authors who seem to do it a fair bit, or have at least in the past, like King I think. Best to leave it alone and just take inspiration from it then.

Ah, would love to get a representative story from your end of the pond, Cononomous. So far, we have Canadian, American, American, American, New Mexican, and Canadian.

Where are the South Africans? UK citizens? Indians (from India)? Chinese? South American? Russian?

Mine is set in rural
