I read scifi voraciously as a young man and one of the stories I read was about an inventor who only invented when he was drunk. He even invented a robot to open his beer for him. I remember that the robot was vain and would admire itself in a mirror while 'singing' in a voice that was too high a frequency for people to hear. When the inventor collected his pay for the inventions he made he would 'deposit' it into a computer. He had 2: Bubbles and Monstro. As you can see, I found the story memorable but I cannot remember the author or the name of the story.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
