I think "Greg Egan" is a woman.
Greg Egan is a recluse, who states with perfect confidence that no photos of "him" appear on the internet.
The more I read of "his" books, the more convinced I am that he is a woman writing under a pseudonym...It's very hard to say exactly why, and any specific characteristic of the writing to which I pointed would be inaccurate and sexist. It's just a sneaking suspicion...

And so what if he is? Or maybe he's a transman. Or maybe it's something Greg doesn't wish to share, and we should respect that?

You are completely wrong; just talked with Mr. Egan a few weeks ago when he penned a post for FBC and he is a scientist from the future (when gender loses a definite sense like in the Culture) who is visiting our timeline to give us hints about how the universe really works

Greg Egan is Australian. So is the platypus.
I've never talked to Greg Egan. I've never talked to a platypus either.
Evidence mounts.

When I perform the calculations the numbers never come up saying a female platypus scientist from the future can't have come back to tell us how things went.

I been tellin' people for years that "Greg Egan" is really Alice Sheldon. I know this is true because I've never talked to Alice Sheldon!

I met Greg Egan on a spaceship near Saturn's rings a couple years back.
