October 2012 Flash Fiction

Okay folks, your theme this month will be Dolls.

That’s right, dolls. They can be voodoo dolls, Chucky dolls, Dollhouse (if you really must) dolls, even Barbie dolls, or something else entirely, but dolls there shall be. I’m sure you’ll think of something

As usual, 1000 words maximum limit and your story must be recognisably scifi, fantasy or horror.

Post your entries in the Stories sub-forum, and post a link here in this thread. Please label your submission clearly so it doesn't get lost, something like October 2012 Flash – Title of Story.

Deadline is Wednesday October 24th, Midnight GMT (ish).

My Soul to Keep

The title is from a different book. I never read that book and acutally have no idea what the book is about, but the title of the story inspired me to write this FF so I thought it would fit for me to name it after that.

I wasn't going to, but then I found the front half of a story i'd completely forgotten about and it sort of fits. Maybe a bit obvious if you know the prompt in advance, but what the heck:

Must be in the fifties

EDIT: shortly after posting I stuck this up on Absolute Write for some unaffiliated feedback. So far it's being crucified.

LOL. Sorry, I didn't realize that was the name of your story too. It's a good title. It brings to mind so many creepy things. Maybe we should do a theme with this title one month.
