    Dragonlance

Hi all, I'm following this link to determine the order of the books I should read.
    http://www.dlnexus.com/products/reading.aspx

I've read read Dragons of a New Age trilogy and according to the site, I should read the Dhamon Saga next. So right now I'm in the middle of chapter 2 of Downfall and something doesn't seem right. Who are Maldred, Fetch, Rikali and the Legion of Steel Knights? There isn't any character development on them. And according to http://www.dlnexus.com/products/chronological.aspx, Downfall takes place after Eve of the Maelstrom. So where did these people come from? Should I not be reading this book yet?

I've never read the Dhamon Saga, so I can't be of much help. Sorry.

But in trying to help in any way, I do see that the text at the site appears to be a bit out of date, the 3rd Lost Chronicles book ("Dragons of the Hourglass Mage") was released and the Dark Disciple trilogy is finished. Such things shouldn't make a difference, but maybe they do somehow?

I have read the next recs, the War of Souls and the Dark Disciple trilogies and while I wasn't familiar with everything (I think that the Legion of Steel Knights appeared in at least one of these too, but it's been years, so I can't say for sure) I was able to make enough sense of everything to enjoy both of those stories.

Hopefully someone who can better help you will post, but I haven't seen too many members here who have read past the Chronicles and Legends trilogies, so you may have to wait awhile.

I'm glad you were able to get someone to better help you, and thanks for the link. After seeing your question I was wondering about the answer too. Hopefully the book will still be good, despite the unexpected and unexplained characters that show up.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but this is what most people recommend:

    1. Classic core novels
    2. Fifth Age core novels
    3. Age of Mortals core novels
    4. Historical core novels

My advise is to read the original Chronicles, and anything else written by Weis and Hickman, then anything that sounds interesting. A lot of the books can be read at anytime. Many are clunky and boring.
