The real NaNoWriMo, national even? No, I'm not in.
What we did here at SFFWorld for a while? I'm still debating.

A good friend of mine has suckered me into a mano a mano game of NaNoWriMo. I'd thought I would see who else might come along the torture ride.
Wulfen - you actually sound like you are looking forward to it. You go!
RedMage - can you do one sentence a day?

Yes, I am participating in National November Writing Month. I've even gotten my first mini-challenge from my friends. 7,500 by Sunday and I get to go to an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet.

I'm basically pausing my work on the 'real' novel for the next month, and starting a new project for this. Afterwards, I'm hoping the time away from my current project will help to refine it.
I've never written at this kind of pace, so this should prove interesting.

I think you know the answer is Yes. Lol. I'm just having story trouble. Nothing like over the summer and last spring, but I've got to figure out what's going on. That's what I'm debating right now. But, no, I don't think I will do the official. I have nothing new that is ready to be written right now so I will have to skip it.
Good luck to all you NaNo-ers!

I intend to use the deadline to try and finish my work in progress. That means rather less than 50k, more like 35, and in a time scale not too much less than that which produced the previous 35. If I can do that I'll be delighted; if not, at least putting me close enough to finish it this year will do.

That's what we've done in the past here on the site. It works a bit clunkier than the real NaNoWriMo site (here's the link for anyone who doesn't know what we are talking about - FYI - the site is overwhelmed at the moment), but we just use the collective NaNo-energy to finish our own projects unofficially.
I'm game to do that again, but without the graphs. We can just report in and I'll keep track (loosely).
Here's my goal: 20,000 words by the end of November 30th (or 666 words a day).
Since the smilies are not really working yet...here's my evil grin:

I'm too busy with my third book in the series.
But recently, I've been averaging two chapters on a good a day - or roughly 10,000 words, a day!
With work and whatnot, it comes down to about 15,000-20,000 a week
I actually timed myself, the prose comes off at 60 words/min ...

Reporting in to this thread? I'm up for that. I got the jump on it with 600 words yesterday, so I'll give a new running total tonight.

I've also joined this stuff, for the first time, kind of confused and excited and scared at the same time.

Finished last year, looking to repeat the feat this year.
