Steve's Journal, Day 15: No end site. SFF still sluggish and unresponsive. Won't somebody please save us?
I have found that my notifications are on and off for the past week. Sometimes I get them, other times I do not.

Thanks again, guys. And apologies. We are aware, the cyberelves are aware, and I understand we're not the only site having this problem. Weirdly, it doesn't happen to everyone, nor does it seem to be updates on a particular OS, as it seems to vary on the OS too.
But we have let people know. And like you, we are hoping things will be sorted sooner rather than later.
Thanks for bearing with us.

Anyone else getting a 500 error when they try to post new threads?
Alrighty. Just a note to say we're on it. The slow site speed, the double posting and the database errors. We'll keep you informed. As of now, however, no information to give, except that we're on it.
It's seemed a little better since last night, though still fairly slow.
the pages are loading faster, I sstill get the error / double post message when I reply to a thread. I thought a bit about it, I'm not a web designer, but it may have something to do with the two different windows for entering text: 'quick replay' and 'full edit/go advanced' : the message gets sent to both of them. I would suggest getting rid of 'quick reply' and see if things improve.
Good thinking, Algernon. As a temporary measure (ie: to see if it works!) I have disabled Quick Edit. Apologies to those users used to using it, but I am hoping it might increase speed and reduce double posts.
Will try it for a couple of days just to see. Please let us know if it works/doesn't work.
Thank you!

Just popped in to say that the site is still spotty but I've noticed a tremendous improvement. Don't know what the webmaster did to the back end, but whatever it is, it certainly bore fruit.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Caedus: must say I've had fewer complaints this week, so it must be working!
Still waiting for tweaks from the owner and the cyberelves; but it looks as if things are slightly better, which must be a relief for everyone!

Definitely not working. Or it's worse today. it happens to me on multiple machines, at multiple places, and even on my phone on both 3g, 4g, and wireless. Feels like dialup speeds.
Aye, it's getting slower for me as well.
