    Smile starships

How many hard core science fiction fans draw your own starships? I decided at an early age that between Star Wars and Star Trek there wasn't enough starships for me to enjoy so i started my own collection and I just wonder how many people there are like me out there. I have quite a few now. More than any of these newer sci-fis that are out now and it's lonely at the top.

You draw your own?? That's awesome! It would never occur to me to do that.

I do them in 3d, many starships with the added benefit of being able to make animations and if you download the many free 3d models available - - more fun.

You can also pit your creations against Star Trek, Babylon 5, Gerry Anderson's ships for either battles or flybys.

Blender is a free 3d modeling & animation program but it has a pain-in-the-ass user interface. I use it to convert different 3d modeling formats into what I can use. Google's Sketchup has a disadvantage in that models created in it cannot be easily (if at all) ported to other formats.

Being able to draw is a big positive.
