Yeah, that is pretty amazing. Also, very well deserved. I think it is one of the best series I've read in a long time. Three cheers for Hugh! (insert three manic cheers) :-)
I kind of expected something like this would eventually be happening. I hope he got the deal he wanted.
It is without question the deal he wanted...and I suspect the deal that most of us from self-publishing want....keeping our ebook rights and selling print only. I really didn't think I would see it happen...but the dominoes are falling. To date I know of:
[list][*] John Locke (although he really didn't get a "print deal" so much as pay S&S to publish in paper[*] Brandon Sanderson's Legion & Emperor's Soul - Subterranean & Tachyon got print rights he did the ebooks[*] Hugh Howey's Wool (although it may be similar to Locke's where they are a vendor to him not the other way around. - Either way - he's getting what he wants which is larger distribution while maintaining the very lucrative ebook rights.
It gets even better if it hasn't been mentioned already.
