    Ending to Simmons' A Winter Haunting

    Do not go further unless you enjoy spoilers.

    The ending , the last 5 pages. Any insight as to how to interpret Dale's suddenly more proactive inner voice? Is it a soul of the other world come back, or is it a side personality? It says it will call Dale's ex, it will work some more on Dale's novel.

    Read back those few pages if need be.
