Actually...
I preordered it and have the Gold cartridge edition. I love Ocarina of Time but I find the story to be too much like the Zelda's before it (IMHO Link to the Past was the best Zelda), FF6 is just such a huge game with like 15 playable characters each with his own deep story along with an encompassing main plot that the story just draws me in each and every time. That said remembered I only gave it a special mention, FF8 is still my favorite.

yeah man, Ocarina was a FANTASTIC game with a top-notch storyline, but in terms of story ff6 so far has been pretty insurmountable. If I hadn't read any reviews before playing it I would have thought the game was over when it was only a 3rd done. That's pretty impressive.
Setzer, btw, is the coolest looking FF character ever. Consider the debate open! lol

Eh,
I always thought Cloud and Squall were pretty bad a**. But yeah Setzer is still cool. But any ways the thread said to avoid going off topic and I think I'll at least try.

Okay umm,
Top 3 games by system..
NES-
1. Final Fantasy (I'm actually playing it now)
2. Ninja Gaiden (Not many people I know have even heard of it, but it's a Capcom game and it requires some serious skill by the end)
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade (Just too much fun)
SNES-
1. FF6 (Read my earlier comments)
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (In my opinion so much more fulfilling and fun that Ocarina of Time; a great game)
3. Civilization (A port of the PC game; graphics are terrible but it's still fun)
N64-
1. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (It took me three days of straight play but I got gold medals in every single level! THAT'S CALLED DEDICATION!)
2. The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (Epic, epic game)
3. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (A little confusing at first but still a great often underrated game)
Playstation-
1. FF8 (Read earlier comments)
2. Metal Gear Solid (Great story, great gameplay, great voice dubs, great everything)
3. Resident Evil (DIE YOU EVIL ZOMBIES)
Playstation 2-
1. Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance(Read earlier comments)
2. MS Gundam: Federation vs. Gundam (I love this game Gundam is just freaking great)
3. FF10 (Not nearly as hard or quite as good as it's predecessors but still a solid game with more eye candy than Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.
PC-
1. Homeworld (Read Earlier Comments)
2. Imperium Galactica 2: Alliances (A huge game that loses replay value slowly and can be terribly easy at some points but nail-bitingly hard at other points.
3. Operation Flashpoint (A realistic difficult game that could've been far better if had focused more on the Infantry part of the game)
That's all I have folks.

Bah I can't believe you people!
The best RTS games ever made are:
1. Myth the Fallen Lords
2. Myth II Soulblighter
Both games were made by Bungie for Mac and PC pre microsoft days.
They have an excellent single player campaign with a story line that you will find hard to beat. The multi player game though for me was the best part about these games. I was totally addicted to playing on bnet(that's Bungie net not that piece of crap Battlenet).
Cause they were forced to shut down bnet by microsoft but being the cool guys they are they released the network code and fans made a replacement bnet.
Myth III The WolfAge was a disaster though as it was not made by bungie so avoid that and don't judge the others by it.

You finished Section Z???!!! Do games like that even have an end? Who knew? You don't win anything but you certainly should! I thought games like that and Arkanoid just went on for ever and ever. That's a tough one... lots of great NES games. Rygar was great as well as the legend of Zeldas(1 and 2). And let's not forget Ultima... the biggest pain in the ass game ever! btw... I beat section Z. Do I win anything?
Did you use a cheat?
I admired my friends that could finish Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man but they weren't as mindnumbingly repetitive as Section Z.
Rygar? I don't know, got old after a while.
BTW one of the best NES games is one that hasn't been mentioned yet I think and it's the one that came with the console! Super Mario Bros. take a bow!
