It's a Robin Hobb book... of course there will be some sort of tragedy!

The author keeps building him up to some superhorse, and keeps going on and on and on so that I start to wonder what Gandalf, Frodo and Co are even in the books for.
I mean, Shadowfax can slay Sauron, Saruman, the 9 Riders and all the orcs before breakfast, and destroy the ring with his teeth for dessert...or so it starts to seem the way the author carries on about him.

Linden and Maurynna out of Joanne Bertin's Dragon Lord,
ok you can change into dragons, but what happens to your clothes when you do!!!
Richard and Kahlan only so much bosom heaving and chest beating I can take.
Arithon and Lysaer. Sorry as much as love Janny Wurts' work and her command of the English language, I could knock their blocks together!!

The things that woman did to Richard Rahl!! I wanted to reach in the book and strangle her!! Then I would have taken that agiel rod she sooo loved to disipline with and lock it in a heavy chest and send it to the bottom of the ocean!!
I dig the skin tight red leather though

For the thread's sake, I'll say I really hate around 70-80% of the characters in ASOIAF.
