Really. Though I may be wrong about the first episode of SG-1's new season....maybe it's the last? Oops.

If they can keep the great episodes coming, and keep the comedic value, we could very well have another 7 seasons of Stargate, bliss.
Actually, SG-1 is not ending. They have another new season starting sometime early next month. Both series are going to run concurrently. In fact, I think SG Atlantis in only a mini-series. I could be wrong though on that.

Yes, but this season is their last, they both start on July 16. Atlantis is a series though...unless it fairs poorly of course.

Yes, I really hope it is, they're introducing lots of new elements into it that will hopefully revive and renew the series as a whole.

Just finished watching the series premiere of Atlantis, it has great potential in my opinion, I'm very sure that I'll enjoy watching it as much as the original, cool new characters, badass new enemies, cool technology, it's just cool, go see it.

They are continuing with the humor. Atlantis may have a shot at succeeding. The new villians are interesting. Glad they killed off the X-Files guy in the first episode. He can't act his way out of a paperbag.

Haha, Spoiler Warning! Yeah, it was a really cool death though, I read somewhere that the Wraith were 'life-suckers' which pretty much fits in with what happened, it'll be interesting to see how they use it in future episodes. Oh, and I forgot to mention, looking at the visuals for this, they either have a larger budget for this series than the original one started out with, or the just did a lot of work for the premiere, but if they keep up with the same standard they set in the first episode, Atlantis is going to be the best looking show as far as visuals go, easily.

I freakin missed it ! I saw like maybe five minutes of it when they ran it again around midnight, but I fell asleep ! I completely forgot last night was the seaon premiere. The only part I saw was when they first came through the gate, and you are right, the special effects and set design are outstanding. I am hoping they run it again at some point this weekend so I can see the entire episode.

Oh, I'm sure they will, they might show it on Monday when they do the the regular Stargate rundown, but I'm sure if they don't they'll show it some other time. It's cool though, they get all this access to Ancient technology now that they're in Atlantis, can't wait till they find some really cool stuff, like those ships were, hehe.

Weren't they, though, gliding through the gates that way? I love that orbitting gate.

The Wraith are great bad guys, really menacing. Sort of like Legolas from Hell!

Legolas from hell....yeah, that sums them up nicely. What I am interested in is how they are going to do the comedic episodes, like Wormhole Extreme, since they're not on Earth anymore, since Stargate has a great comedic feel to it that really sets it apart from other Sci-Fi series, they just don't take themselves as seriously.
