Soon, very soon, you'll strike the editor that doesn't add, "but unfortunately..."

I'm not making any progress with writing fiction at the moment - I've taken a self-denying ordinance until I've completed the contracts for the military technology books I'm working on. But I am trying to find ways of promoting books I've already written. My latest effort is a blog, here: http://sciencefictionfantasy.blogspot.com/

    Constructive comments welcomed!

    Lightbulb

    Hello again.

I changed my setting. Instead of the bright lights and glamour of Las Vegas, NV, my real-life location is now the star-lit, pastoral Jordan (Minneapolis/St. Paul), MN.

The urban-mystery has taken a short break. Although, I've found a way to save the hero's lady, without being too cutesy or going all deus-ex-machina at the end. That's exciting. It needs developing, but the idea is there.

Publishing news...I may have found an eager publisher for my poetry/songwriting, completely by mistake. Via a music 'board I frequent, I began trading emails with an aspiring poet. It turns out that he and his wife find, edit and sell (on a small-scale) poetry chapbooks! Now, I've got to edit old writings that I haven't looked at in, well, years.

Suggestions? How do I avoid overloading myself, or the friend/publisher, with lots of writing?

    & to HOLBROOK-
Congrats on the rejection! We all just want to be heard, right? Good to know some editors can hear, even when our writings don't fit their needs at the moment.

Its been slow going recently, but I've finally managed to reach 130k on my WIP!

It is getting closer to the end but still has some way to go. I'm going to take a wild stab and guess it may finish around 180k-200k, we'll see though.

Book was number one selling paperback in the Channel Islands for three weeks, dropped off the chart in week four, was back in at number ten week five, and this week was back up to number three.

Ooh, the roller coaster ride of top ten charts!

But sales are slow generally. I'm working hard on my novel and have it all planned (kind of!)
