I have to agree with a lot of people so far and say Fitz. Being with him as he grew up and watching him change made it impossible not to love him.

Oh, I personally really enjoyed MilesSo he'd definitely make my list.
I think another former favourite that have been forgotten is Gerald Tarrant from the Coldfire Trilogy... I loved that guy
I think Fitz would also make my list and I have to agree with Elda in regards to Phedre's Cassiline, he was definitely one great character.
Hmm. this makes me want to read those books again![]()
No surprises at #1
Caine from Matthew Woodring Stover's Acts of Caine
Also:
Thomas Covenant from Donaldson's epic series.
Pug/Milamber-- but only as portrayed in Feist's Magician. He was diluted in subsequent novels.
These are a few great characters that I just fell in love with.
Tremaine Valiarde (The Fall of Ile Rien by Martha Wells)
Sutty (The Telling by Ursula Le Guin)
Antonio Marez (Bless Me Ultima by Rudolpho Anaya)
!Xabbu (Otherland by Tad Williams)
Nice topic- it makes me want to reread some of these books![]()
I enjoyed the books, but didn't really care for Miles until Memory when he sort of grew up an integrated all the different parts of his personality. Prior to that he was funny, and occasionally interesting - but I didn't really care about him. He never seemed like a real person. From that series my favorite characters would be Cordelia, Aral, the young emperor (whose name I am blanking on now) and Bel Thorne.Originally Posted by intensityxx
