The Year of the Documentary?
Documentaries seem to be getting bigger and bigger in popularity. Many would say last year was the year of the documentary, what with Super Size Me and Farenheit 9/11. Supersize Me made like $12 million in the theaters, but Farenheit made over $100 million. I doubt any documentaries will come close to that, but as documentaries grow in popularity, there should be some good ones this year.
At Sundance there were a bunch of promising documentaries. Inside Deep Throat is already in theaters, Murderball looks interesting, although I don't know if that will be released, and Ring of Fire--a documentary about a boxing fight that ended in death is going to air on USA in April. Anyone interested in any of these films or know of any other documentaries coming out this year?
